The reverse design of the £5 coin will show a depiction of the St Edward’s Crown accompanied by the sovereign’s sceptre with dove and the sovereign’s sceptre with cross with the inscription “THE CORONATION OF KING CHARLES III 6 MAY 2023”.
According to the Royal Proclamation, the coin will feature the inscription “· GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS KING”, save for the cupro-nickel coin which shall have a grained edge.

Good morning, I have received your email telling me about the news of the release of the new coronation 50p and £5 coins. There is a form with it, but my question is I already subscribe to the new 50p coins but would like to receive the £5 coin. I don’t want to fill the form and receive the two coins but like I said I would like to have the £5 coin. Can your advice or would you say put my thoughts and wants on the comments form at the bottom of the application form?
Hi David, thanks for getting in touch. Filling in the form is just to let us know you’d like to hear updates about the new coins. If you sign up, we’ll drop you a message with all the latest info, including a link to buy when the coins are available. Signing up does not mean the coins will be automatically sent to you, although if you’re on the Change Checker Subscription then you can rest assured that you will receive these coins as soon as they are released. Hope that helps!
