The brand new 2019 UK Gruffalo® 50p has been issued by The Royal Mint to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this much-loved character of Children’s literature. This very latest release features a design of the Gruffalo based on the modern, animated films by Magic Light Pictures. What’s more, the reverse of the coin has been specially designed by Magic Light Pictures themselves to capture the full details of the Gruffalo. The obverse features a portrait of Her Majesty by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark.
