The 2019 Battle of Britain 50p was reissued in 2019 as part of the 50th Anniversary of the 50p Celebrations. The Victoria Cross is the highest award for gallantry that a British and Commonwealth serviceman can achieve. A recommendation for the Victoria Cross is normally issued by an officer at regimental level or equivalent and has to be supported by three witnesses. This coin was released as a Brilliant Uncirculated commemorative issue in the Military History 50p set and did not enter general circulation.
