Coin Information:

This 50p coin was originally issued in the 2020 Annual Coin Set to celebrate Team GB’s inspirational participation at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. However, due to the pandemic causing the games to be postponed, the coin wasn't individually issued until the following year. Interestingly, this means there are two versions of this coin with different dates on the obverses, however both the 2020 and 2021 versions both feature 2020 on the reverse design. The coin’s reverse design, by David Knapton, features various symbols of Olympic sport. Queen Elizabeth II’s fifth portrait by Jody Clark features on the obverse.
