The second coin in The Royal Mint’s 2020 Tower of London series is this Royal Menagerie £5. From 13th to mid-19th century, the Tower of London housed a menagerie of exotic wild animals, never before seen in London, including Elephants, Lions, and even Polar Bears! Timothy Noad’s heraldic-inspired design features three lions surrounded by a Norman arched window. This coin also features the exclusive Tower of London Mint Mark which can only be found on the Tower of London £5 coins. The obverse of this coin features the fifth portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
